# Contributing with AI agents

> How AI coding agents and people share the same repository rules, reviews and release path.

AI coding agents contribute to Tuturuuu under the same rules as people. The
repository's root `AGENTS.md` is the single source for those rules; this page
summarizes what that means for a contributor, human or agent.

## Principles

* **One set of rules.** Agents follow the conventions in
  [Git conventions](https://docs.tuturuuu.com/build/development-tools/git-conventions.md),
  [Pre-push checks](https://docs.tuturuuu.com/build/development-tools/pre-push-checks.md) and
  [Documenting](https://docs.tuturuuu.com/build/development-tools/documenting.md). An agent's change is
  reviewed like any other change.
* **Small, isolated changes.** Work happens on its own branch or worktree and is
published as a normal pull request; see
  [Stacked pull requests](https://docs.tuturuuu.com/build/development-tools/stacked-pull-requests.md) for
  larger changes.
* **Verify locally first.** Run the focused checks for the area you changed and
record the commands and results in the pull request.
* **Docs ship with code.** A feature pull request updates the matching docs
page, or says why no documentation is needed.
* **No secrets in the repository.** Never commit tokens, keys, credentials or
rendered environment dumps, and never paste them into docs, issues or pull
  requests. See [Deployment configuration](https://docs.tuturuuu.com/build/devops/deployment-configuration.md).
* **Sensitive areas get a security review.** Changes to authentication,
authorization, data protection, billing or infrastructure are reviewed by a
human code owner before merge; see [Code owners](https://docs.tuturuuu.com/build/devops/code-owners.md).
* **Stay inside the active runtime.** Follow the
[active runtime map](https://docs.tuturuuu.com/build/devops/active-runtime.md) and do not resume paused
  runtimes unless a maintainer asks.

## Where to start

New contributors can begin with [Development](https://docs.tuturuuu.com/build/development-tools/development.md),
[Without Docker](https://docs.tuturuuu.com/build/development-tools/without-docker.md) and the
[monorepo architecture](https://docs.tuturuuu.com/build/development-tools/monorepo-architecture.md).
