# Get started with a workspace

> Accounts, app selection, workspace identity, permissions, and safe first steps.

## Sign in and choose the right workspace

1. Open the [platform](https://tuturuuu.com) or a product from the
   [Apps gateway](https://apps.tuturuuu.com).
2. Complete central sign-in. Satellite apps use a coordinated session handoff;
   their login and verification URLs are not public content pages.
3. Choose your personal or team workspace. If you have a pending invitation,
   accept it through the app's invitation flow before expecting team access.
4. Open the product you need and check its access state. An app tile does not
   override membership, product flags, or a role's permissions.

A workspace is the boundary for team data and permissions. Browser routes can
use `personal`, `internal`, a UUID, or an accepted workspace handle. Persistent
records and server authorization use the resolved workspace UUID. Do not copy a
workspace slug into a database field that expects an ID.

See [Workspaces and permissions](/platform/architecture/workspaces-permissions)
for the full model and [Routing](/platform/architecture/routing) for redirects.

## Start with a small workflow

* Create a task in [Tasks](/platform/applications/tasks) and choose its board,
  status, assignee, and scheduling fields where available.
* Put a fixed appointment in [Calendar](/platform/applications/calendar).
  Scheduling suggestions and provider synchronization have their own state;
  saving a task is not proof that a provider calendar has synchronized.
* Track a work session in [Track](/platform/applications/track), then review
  its history instead of estimating completion from a running timer.
* Upload a file through [Drive](/platform/applications/drive) or start a
  [Chat](/platform/applications/chat) discussion with the right audience.

## Configure the experience

Theme and language controls are documented under
[Themes](/platform/personalization/themes) and
[Language](/platform/personalization/language). Sidebar customization is in
[Sidebar navigation](/platform/personalization/sidebar-navigation). Mobile
modules follow their own [default and experiment rules](/platform/features/mobile-workspace-tools).

A configured root destination applies when opening the app root; visiting a
workspace home directly keeps that home destination. Hidden workspaces can be
restored without deleting them: see [Hidden workspaces](/platform/features/hidden-workspaces).

## Understand sharing before publishing

Workspace membership, a shared link, a public form, a published storefront, and
an external app token are different access mechanisms. Share only through the
owning product's supported flow. A URL's presence in a browser or docs inventory
is not proof that its data is public. Search exclusion also does not replace
access controls. Read [Search indexing](/platform/features/search-indexing)
and the product's publishing guide.

If a module is unavailable, use [Troubleshooting](/platform/guides/troubleshooting)
before recreating an account or changing workspace data.
