Scope and default
The Tasks board header belongs to the shared board UI used by Web and Tasks. Project Tasks tabs reuse the header with project-specific actions. A new board view starts on Kanban with all lists, no people or project selection, no search and no explicit sort. Saved board view, people, project and priority-sort choices can restore on return; search is not saved. Removed label, priority-value, date, estimate and source filters do not restore from saved settings or another viewer. Two rows
The first row contains the board breadcrumb/picker, search, Share, New task and More, in that order. Presence avatars sit before search when collaboration is available. Searching from Timeline switches to List so results can be shown. The second row contains people pills, Project and Focus on the left, then Clear when filters are active, priority Sort and View on the right. View offers the views available on that surface: Kanban, List, Timeline, My Tasks, Drafts and Recycle bin. Controls wrap on smaller screens while keeping their order.People and projects
People pills use the board’s complete viewable-member roster, together with assignees already present on its tasks. Your pill comes first, followed by task count and name. Five people are visible; the rest are in the overflow menu. Picking only yourself means Mine. Adding another person changes the selection to those people together; it must not keep an additional Mine restriction. Unassigned and named people exclude each other. Project allows one or more workspace projects and excludes deleted projects. People, Unassigned and project counts describe the unfiltered board tasks, not the current filtered result. Counts stay hidden while any list has unvisited, loading or remaining pages. Member and project options remain usable, including Unassigned when no loaded task is unassigned yet. Applying another viewer’s filters keeps only the header’s supported choices. Mine is relative to the receiving viewer and is enabled only when that viewer is the sole selected assignee. Legacy source, label, date, estimate and priority-value restrictions cannot silently narrow the joined view.Focus and sorting
Focus shows your open tasks, highest priority first. Open includes Not started, Active and Review lists, and excludes Done and Closed. It selects you alone, clears Unassigned and the Project selection, and keeps the current search. Clicking an active Focus again removes its people restriction, open-list scope and priority sort. Clear resets the filters, search and sort while preserving the empty-list display preference. A filtered-empty project Tasks tab retains the header and Clear so the viewer can recover. Sort offers only highest priority first, lowest priority first, and clearing the sort to return to the board’s normal order. It does not offer due-date, name, creation-date or estimate sorting.More and button tones
More contains Choose tasks, Board settings, Refresh, Hide sidebar, Create board and the personal Planner, when each action is available. Board settings uses the existing contextual settings dialog. Hide sidebar appears only when the sidebar is available and visible. Planner appears only on personal Kanban boards. Tone buttons use blue for filters and Focus, purple for Sort and View, and cyan for Share. Changed controls fill with their tone: a selected project, active Focus, explicit priority sort or a view other than the default Kanban. Idle controls retain a light tint and border. People pills highlight selected people and dim unselected people while a selection is active.Exceptions
Public boards show the board title instead of the member board picker. Public read-only boards keep search, Sort and the permitted views; member-only people, Project, Focus, presence, Share, task creation and More actions are absent. The header does not query private board members for public or read-only boards. Read-only boards use local filtering rather than member mutations. Unshared personal workspaces omit presence avatars; personal boards shared with guests can show them. The personal Planner remains in More on Kanban only. My Tasks replaces the board picker with its own title and keeps its existing workspace-wide task content. Project Tasks tabs omit people and Project options when no board header data is supplied, retain Link tasks, and hide board-manager actions. The shared UI and its Next.js and native app adapters follow the same header contract; this decision does not change board access permissions.
